How to Guide

How long does Developer last after mixing?
After you mix your Cream Developer with your toner, oxidation occurs. This is normally fine to use for up to an hour but after that the mixture will not be effective and is best to throw it away and start again.
What happens if you leave the Developer in the clients hair for too long?
Timing is super important here as leaving the developer on for too long can lead to over-processing, not leaving it on for long enough can result in poor colour results.
What happens if I add too much Developer to my colour?
Your mix will be more diluted and runny which could mean it does not deposit enough colour during the processing time. The colour itself may not last as long as it would normally.
When would I use Cream Developer Volume 30?
30 Volume Developer is the perfect choice for grey coverage and more resistant hair types and is a powerful combination to lift up to 9+ levels. It is better for open-air processing than in foils. 30 Volume will give 3 levels of lift when used with permanent hair colour depending on the natural hair.
When would I use Cream Developer Volume 20?
This is a popular choice and when mixed with Crazy Color High Lift Violet Lightener is the highest level that should be used on the scalp as the scalp produces more heat and will naturally increase the power of the developer. 20 Volume will give 1-2 levels of lift when mixed with permanent hair colour.
When would I use Cream Developer Volume 6?
We recommend using Crazy Color Cream Developer Volume 6 when mixing with our Rapid Toners. It works as an activator for the colour.
What is the difference between your Volumes 6, 20 and 30 Cream Developers?
The higher the volume, the stronger the developer, the more the hair cuticle opens and the more lightening of the natural pigment there will be. The selection of developer depends on the application;  6 volume is generally used for tone-on-tone application with no lift, while 20 and 30 volume developers are used for services that require lifting of natural base colour and grey coverage.
